ABOUT NESLA

The purpose of the New England School Library Association (NESLA) is to support the six school libraries association in New England.

Mission Statement; NESLA leverages the power of New England school library associations through opportunities to connect, communicate, consult and collaborate at regional and national levels.

NESLA leverages the power of New England school library associations through opportunities to connect, communicate, consult and collaborate at regional and national levels in order to transform and support teaching and learning through professional practice. NESLA works for school library associations to:

    Connect by networking with school library and education leaders, strengthening connections with AASL, and connecting with legislators, Departments of Education, and other school library and technology associations;
    Communicate by sharing information across school library associations through virtual networks, social media
    and face-to-face meetings to inform and engage members of NESLA and the state associations;

    Consult by providing training in leadership, legislative initiatives, securing external funding, and mentoring
     new school librarians;

    Collaborate by partnering with school library and educational associations within and outside the New England region, conduct regional think tanks, and leverage purchasing power for school libraries.
      The New England School Library Association (NESLA) is an affiliate of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
