The New England School Library Association (NESLA) is a regional organization dedicated to serving the needs of school librarians in the six New England states.  Upon payment of annual dues, a member is any person in agreement with the purpose of the New England School Library Association (NESLA).  All members except honorary members shall be entitled to vote, attend meetings, to hold office, and to serve on committees.   Dues shall be paid in September with the onset of the fiscal year and cover a time period of twelve months, expiring on the fixed date of August 31.

  • Attend the Annual NESLA Conference (with reduced rates for NESLA members) and other professional development opportunities
  • Uncover leadership opportunities - become involved with making New England school libraries successful
  • Develop a direct link with AASL Regional Directors, who are members of the AASL Board of Directors, the place where national decisions are made! The AASL Region 1 Director is a member of the NESLA governing board.
  • Partake in a collaboration with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
  • Represent your state in collaboration with the Association for Educational Communications and Technology
  • Learn & Communicate with colleagues on the NESLA website and listserv
  • Advocate for all school librarians in New England
  • Be Heard as an additional representation to AASL at ALA Annual & MidWinter Conferences
